Bill Worthen, FAIA, LEED AP is a nationally recognized sustainability and collaborative design leader. Over his twenty-year career Bill has balanced policy development with professional and public advocacy, practice experience, industry research and peer-to-peer education. Bill has served as the sustainability and LEED consultant for several high-visibility projects that explore the practical application of leading edge sustainability strategies, energy performance and high-level green building certifications for clients including: MGM Resorts International, Tishman Speyer, the City and County of San Francisco and the Energy Foundation. Bill served as a member of San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom’s Green Building Task Force resulting in the city’s pioneering Green Building Ordinance, winner of the first World Green Building Council Government Leadership Award in 2011. Bill has also represented his profession, serving as the AIA National Director and Resource Architect for Sustainability from 2010 to 2012, spearheading several cross-industry collaborative sustainability initiatives – most notably overseeing the development of the AIA Energy Modeling Practice Guide. Bill is currently sits on the California Architectural Foundation Board of Regents and is a member of Climate Positive Development Program C40 Roadmap Review Committee at the Clinton Foundation.

Mr. Dixon is a Principal Geologist with Roux Associates and is a founder of their San Francisco office. Roux is a New York headquartered environmental consulting firm with offices in the Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles areas. Mr. Dixon has 27 years’ experience managing site assessments and cleanup projects, conducting environmental due diligence for real estate transactions, and providing litigation support and expert testimony on environmental matters. He has managed cleanup projects for re-use as residential, school, hospital, recreation, wildlife refuge, national park and commercial uses. Mr. Dixon has presented at the National Brownfields Conference on redeveloping pesticide impacted land, community planning, sustainability metrics and vapor intrusion, and was the co-recipient of the 2008 and 2012 EPA Region 9 Brownfields Phoenix Awards for the best redevelopment projects.
Erik joined Credit Suisse in 2009. He focuses on corporate executive services for company founders and executives. He also specializes in investment research, asset allocation and client communication. Prior to advising individuals and families at Deutsche Bank, Erik advised institutional clients on global risk and asset allocation while at the New York office of the Washington based G7 Group. Erik started his career at Toyo Tanso, a semiconductor materials company in Osaka, Japan. After five years in Japan and becoming fluent in Japanese, he was transferred to Milan, Italy to develop the firm’s European market. Erik received his M.B.A. in Finance and Economics from New York University and B.S. in Biology from UCSB. Erik lives in Corte Madera with his wife and two sons.

A veteran of commercial interiors with the scars to prove it, he has devoted himself to his passion for design for almost three decades. Today, Gary is responsible for directing commercial interiors and business development. He possesses an uncanny ability to combine strong design, technical, and project-management skills, ensuring that creativity never means losing sight of buildability and the client’s budget and schedule.
Gary has recently served as the president of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) – Northern California Chapter. He also serves as a professional design critic for the California College of the Arts’ Design Studio and is a professional advisor to the Interior Design Advisory Committee for the Art Institute of California, San Francisco. You have seen his work published in Interior Design, Contract Magazine, Paper City, and Metropolis (or if you haven’t, you should have).

Michael is the Cofounder and President of Wheelhouse, a San Francisco based investment real estate brokerage firm. Before founding Wheelhouse, Michael focused on brokering the sale of apartment buildings in the San Francisco Bay Area with a national brokerage firm. Prior to that he worked in technology also in San Francisco. He is on the board of directors for Oakland’s Association of Realtors, an active leader in many trade organizations and a frequent speaker on real estate panels. He lived in China in the mid-90s where he achieved fluency in Mandarin Chinese, graduated from Bucknell University where he also played four years of Division I soccer. Peter Dreyfuss brings a 26-year history of project development, finance, and management in commercial real estate. From 1995 to 2011 he has been based in San Francisco as West Coast Director of Real Estate for The Broe Group based in Denver, a $2 billion privately held conglomerate of railroads, real estate, and venture capital.
During the late 1990’s, Mr. Dreyfuss was instrumental in the acquisition, finance, management and disposition of a $170 million portfolio of office buildings in San Francisco and the Bay Area, which sold for a net profit of $62 million.
Prior to Broe, Mr. Dreyfuss co-founded MH Realty Advisors of California where he repositioned high-rise office properties during the downturn of the early 1990’s for Teachers Insurance and Travelers Insurance, as well as acting as a court-appointed receiver for numerous properties in Northern California. From 1985 to 1990 he was a project manager in the reconstruction of Old Oakland, a $55 million 2-block project comprised of 12 buildings in a Historic District. He has performed project management services on shopping centers and industrial properties, leasing, rebuilding and repositioning for increased asset value.
Mr. Dreyfuss brings a wealth of hands-on experience in acquiring and financing a variety of projects and coordinating the technical and human assets into new configurations, using his experience in acquisition, due diligence, and finance. He is a licensed California Real Estate Broker who attended the Architecture School at the University of Michigan, and is currently involved in management and repositioning projects in various locations.

Alex Lofting is a mechanical engineer and leads the existing buildings business and “Integrated Interiors” team in Arup’s San Francisco office. Alex, who joined Arup in 2001, has over 13 years of experience and an established track record of designing and delivering low-energy buildings across a variety of business sectors. As an active designer he has developed a particular interest in the built form and the use of passive engineering techniques to control the internal environment. Alex’s particular skills include leading multidisciplinary design teams and all aspects of building physics including district energy modeling, dynamic thermal modeling, conventional and low-energy heating, cooling, and ventilation systems and controls.
